First card of the New Year - Card for a new home

I learned right before Christmas that a friend was moving, and started to think about a New Home card for her.  Surprisingly, there were several "home" theme papers at the local craft stores, but once I brought them home, most seemed better suited to scrapbooking than for card use, because of their overall business.  I chose one that I think works, and used a free digital image for the straw wreath with birds.  The wreath was colored with Prismacolor and Derwent pencils.  The pink cardstock behind the wreath was cut with Nestabilities scalloped squares and is the reverse side of the paper used on the front of the card,  The cardstock  is from the Heidi Grace "A Little Bird" line, purchased at Michael's.  I used one Prima flower which I highlighted with baby blue Stickles.  I wish I could get good, clear photos, but it doesn't seem possible with my little digital camera unless I take the cards outside.  It's a little too breezy for that today.  I apologize for the poor image. I made the Best Wishes tag by cutting rectangles and cutting off the corners.  The ink for that is a K&Co. pigment ink in an aqua color.   Inside I layered lavender cardstock first, and then the greeting on white cardstock.  I cut the bottom of the white cardstock inside with a Martha Stewart edge punch, so the lavender shows through.   In coloring the wreath, I used about 10 different shades of golds and golden browns, and then went over the wreath with Gamsol and a blending stump.  Now off to make a birthday card that should have been received today!

Card count:  1/365

What a lovely card -- and I see you are already counting down for another Christmas??? I am glad to know that I am not the only one who makes birthday cards on the day that should have already been sent. LOL Happy New Year.

This card is adorable!

It is a bummer that you lost your "Best Wishes" Stamps, but hopefully you will find another one, in time.

I love all the colors you chose and think it came out wonderful!
